we were prescribed glasses so we could see the board better at school in 5th grade. i can't remember if we wore them all summer, but i know in 6th grade the dumbass boy we liked told us we looked ugly in them, so we immediately stopped wearing them altogether. that was... 2014?? and now, as a grown adult who lives with its lovely partner (who also needs glasses & always showers us in compliments when we try on a pair) and is noticing a decline in its vision, we've returned to the world of the visually impaired.
especially because we'll be driving on our own soon. we don't exactly want to endanger everybody else on the road with us.
we're lucky enough to have good insurance, so we didn't have to pay too much out of pocket. now, we're wearing our new pink pair of glasses as we write this; it's weird!!! it's disorienting!!! we've been told multiple times that yes, this is normal, your eyes just need to get used to it.
RAAAARRGH
it's so odd. things are much "crispier", and colors are much brighter now, too. my prescription is weak (my optomitrist said i only need to wear them while driving), but even still, the difference is very noticeable. have we seriously been living with this fuzz in our vision for the past... 12 years??? yikes, dude. glad we got the glasses now, i guess.
