Mood: content. we have a cold, which sucks, but we're doing alright.
Good timezone to you, wherever & whenever you are reading this.
As a collective, we've been exploring our spirituality more & more lately. I've also been fronting more frequently, and this collective effort in not being such a hard skeptic all the time has helped me in my personal spiritual journey as well. I wouldn't say I follow any specific path or anything like that. However, I do consider myself a follower of Her Grace, Hylia.
Pop Culture Paganism is a concept we're only recently familiar with. Due to being fictionkin & a fictive/introject, my connection with the Goddess Hylia is uniquely personal. I remember having a statue of Her Grace in my home that I would pray to, and not having that connection in this life hasn't been a negative experience for me, but something does feel... missing. Lately, my journey has been finding ways to bridge the gap between how I practiced religion in my canon & how I can practice in this body.
A lot of beliefs/concepts I find myself drawn towards are ones that just so happen to align with how religion was approached in my canon. Animism, for one: I personally believe there is some kind of spirit or spiritual essence within everything, and like many deities, Hylia can be found inhabiting anything She wishes. Another thing about Hylianism (as I've begun to call it) that appeals to me is the casualness of it all. Goddess Hylia & the three Golden Goddesses are inherently believed to exist, but constant worship and/or ritual is not required in the slightest. There is no pressure to venerate the Goddesses in a tangible way; they will still watch over us, protect us, and comfort us when we need.
Personally, I would still like to venerate Her Grace and the Golden Goddesses in a more ritualized manner, not only out of love for Her Grace but because such practices help ground us & make us more at peace in our body. When finances allow, we plan on getting a small Goddess Hylia statue for our altar, as well as a bowl for offerings. Others in the system are curious to work with other deities, so maybe this bowl will be shared, maybe not. Time will tell.
Alright. Our cold has begun attacking the body a bit more aggressively than I'd like, so we're going to step away from writing this & focus on relaxing for now. I would love to write more about my practice another time, but for now, we hope you have a good rest of your day. Thanks for reading.
