good evening everypony.
we haven't updated the site in a while!! things have gotten pretty hectic irl, honestly. we actually started writing this at like, 11am, but then proceeded to get distracted with other stuff until almost 9pm. awesome!
so! what the hell have we been up to!!!?? well, here's a non-exhaustive list of things going on in our life lately:
cuz we don't really have any other choice. positive nihilism, i guess? nothing matters so let's make the best out of it? who knows. we're still doing alright, and we believe in ourselves that everything will be alright, so. yeah. nice
anyway, let's talk more about the femtanyl show!!
being a creature that loves moshing is, unfortunately, not ideal when that creature is easily injured due to disability. it's us. we're the creature. moshing is SO fun, but we have to take a couple of things into consideration before jumping in: first, tuck our insulin pump tube SECURELY in our pants. if that shit rips out, it's gonna be a whole thing. no thanks. second, keeping track of our blood sugar!!! we've had it crash before due to us just... dancing too hard. lastly, has today been a pain day? did we work that day? are our hips/knees/joints in general kicking our ass today? if yes, maybe don't go crazy or don't get in at all so nothing dislocates (sadness).
what else? reading more books; we recently finished Project Hail Mary!! the book was awesome. we even watched the movie twice before reading it, knowing full well how things would go, and we still teared up a little while reading. 10/10 rocky swears in the book read itttt
before that, we read Dude, You're a Fag: Masculinity and Sexuality in High School by C.J. Pascoe. it's a fantastic research book on teenage toxic masculinity, queerness, and finding identity in high school. the book was published in 2007, so it was also super interesting to see what sociologists like Pascoe were saying about toxic masculinity in boys at the time. we'll save more of our thoughts on the book later, cuz we have a lot to say & want to properly write about it in a book review type page we're thinking about making for the site! :3c
now we're reading The Tradition of Household Spirits: Ancestral Lore and Practices by Claude Lecouteux. it's a fun look (imo) into medieval traditions, rites, superstitions, and more!!! cool stuff on how they constructed homes back then too. maybe we'll add pics of some passages we like later!
alright gang. we've been working on this blogpost for a while now LOL so now, we must go & clean our apartment. since getting diagnosed with adhd & starting medication, cleaning our whole space doesn't seem as... unapproachable?? this is kind of a first for us! which is good!!! have a lovely rest of your day!!!
